Prototype is a collaborative show of eighteen senior York University students from the Space and Site Photography Initiative.
The show is organized around each individual artist’s subjective interpretation of the word ‘Outside(r)’. The theme will be understood differently by each artist through photo-based mixed-media artwork.
This will be a prototype show for a final installation taking place at Function 13 Gallery in Toronto on the 23rd to 29th of April. It will serve an opportunity for the artworks to be seen in a gallery for the first time, and installation of the works may change throughout the duration of the show as final plans develop.
The Space and Site Initiative includes: Melissa Armstrong, Amanda Barratt, Emily Chan, Julia Joori Chung, Keri-Lynn Elsey, Emily Embury, Janet Hinkle, Archana Jagtianey, Chad Charles Kirvan, Asli Kizikli, Sarah Klus, Alyson Lion, James MacMullin, Aidan O’Boyle, Hilde Romme, Michelle Simpson, Sandra Elizabeth Vadasz, and Shuran Wang.
