WHY I LOVE THIS PRODUCT
As some of you may know, I haven't touched liquid foundation in over 3 years. Ever since I discovered bb cream, I've always been wearing it as my foundation instead. (I should really start writing more reviews about the different bb cream that I've tried) For the past 3 years, the bb cream that I've swore by is the one by Dr. Gowoonsesang. This bb cream had been my favourite because of its amazing coverage and its ability to heal my acne scars. Not to mention that a bottle of 50 ml bb cream can last me for more than 6 months! The only downside of this Dr. G bb cream is that it is a little more expensive in comparison to other bb cream on the market. It cost around 35-40 CAD for a 50 ml bottle. Plus, I have only seen it available in SaSa and no where else.
I have tried other bb cream before and I always go back to this one! However, ever since I went back to Hong Kong last May, I discovered that the Dr. G bb cream had started to oxidize. This pretty means that the bb cream has changed colour. It could be because of the temperature in Hong Kong or it was just because I've had this bb cream for too long. So I needed to buy new a new one when I was in Hong Kong. Since Missha is a highly recommended brand, I decided to give the Perfect Cover a try.
And the results? I'm in LOVE! The texture is very thick so a little can go a long way. It provides a good coverage, which I see as a medium to full and it is definitely buildable. I still would not suggest over doing it because it can still look cakey. Remember, less is more and it is very much possible to get a flawless look with this bb cream.
The only downside, like most bb cream, is that it only comes in a limited amount of shades. But at least this bb cream has 4 shades available unlike other bb cream that may only have 1-2 shades. The most common is #21 Light Beige and #23 Natural Beige. You can also get # 31 Golden Beige and #13 Milky Beige at the actual Missha stores in Hong Kong. However, I didn’t come across these two shades in any of the cheaper cosmetic stores. So the price will be more if you are either #31 or #13. I am #23 Natural Beige and luckily, it matches very, very well with my skin-tone.
This bb cream hasn't caused me to break out and I find that it can last for a couple of hours before my natural oils mix in and it becomes a little more glowy. It gives a soft matte finish, which I really like because I don't even have to set it with a powder or anything. There is a rather strong smell to this bb cream, which some people may not like. I also really like the high SPF because I can never get enough sun protection because I tan so easily.
This product comes highly recommended and I've been swearing by this in the past month and it has not caused any problems so far! I'm still using it right now even though I'm in such humid Nanjing weather. I love it!
