PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Givenchy Mister Mat Mattifying Foundation Primer is a soft skin primer that can be used alone or under makeup for a velvety smooth complexion. The lightweight fluid softens and hydrates with silicone gum extracts; and plant extracts work to control sebum production, which provides a long-lasting matte effect that remains light enough to let skin breathe. The subtle light-blue pearlescent shimmers counteract a dull look and minimize the appearance of large pores, leaving skin looking bright and glowing with health.

FOR BEST RESULT
Apply this product all over your face or around the T-zone after moisturizer but before your foundation routine. A pea size is more than sufficient.

WHY I LIKE THIS PRODUCT
This was kinda an impulse buy for me because I had desperately wanted a primer for oil control. I have super, super oily skin and was finding a way to use less of blotting sheets. Of course, I didn't have buy this product with the expectation that it was make me matte all day long because I know realistically that's impossible. My skin is too oily and I would need to take medication in order to completely stop the secretion of oil on my skin.

With that being said, I was pretty happy with the results of this primer. Of course, the mattifying effect was not all day, but I had started to use less blotting papers throughout the day. My makeup does last a little longer but the difference is not extremely significant. It is a silicone based primer, so I have heard that some people tend to break out from this type of primer. However, I didn't have this issue. My skin was fine even after using this for over 2 months. I would say this primer is GREAT for evening out your skin tone but only mediocre when it comes to oil control. Thus, I can't say that I'm absolutely in love with it but I don't exactly hate it either.
As you can see from the photos, it applies very smoothly and it preps my skin really well for foundation application. And like I had mentioned above, a little bit goes a long way! Now with that being said, there are some negative points about this primer. First, it's quite pricey. I purchased this at Sephora for around $32 USD (+ tax) and it only comes with 0.8 fl oz. However, a little does goes a long way, so I'm sure that this will last me for a few months. Second, I find the results of this primer to be very similar to the L'oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base (I have been using that one religiously until I started using this one). The only result difference between the L'oreal one and this Givenchy one is that the Givenchy one has a little, very little, slit advantage with the oil control aspect. And as I had mentioned above, it does not control my oil secretion for the full day. Also, the L'oreal one is cheaper than this one by Givency.

I do enjoy the chic packaging of this product. It's in a black squeeze tube, which makes it more hygienic than the L'oreal one. It also makes it much easier to get the product out without having the put your finger into the pot. Overall, this primer is able to even out my skin and control my oil for maybe around 4 hours or so before I have to use blotting papers. It's worth trying if you are looking for something that's a little better at oil control than the L'oreal one but will I repurchase this again? Probably not.
