I've always loved to play with different textures. Whether is mixing leather, fur, velvet, silk and etc, it's always so fun to do. Recently, I have been finding myself more drawn towards mixing the same textures together. Take this outfit for example: mixing denim with denim. But mixing same textures can be a little difficult. So I've put together some tips on how you can work with the same texture in one outfit.

1) Two-Toned. Make sure that the shades of blue don't match completely. For example, matching a black denim shirt with a pair of blue jeans.
2) Loose & Tight. One of my golden rules for styling almost every outfit is that you don't want to have an outfit that is too tight or too loose all around. If your top is skin-tight, wear a loose bottom. And if your bottom is tight then wear a more free-flow top. Those jeans are quite fitted so I opted out for a loose chambray top.
3) Something Extra. I find that sometimes it's a little too overwhelming to have the exact same texture from head to toe. So in order to breakup the pattern, I have added the fur vest to mix things up even more. Shouldn't everyone have a staple fur vest in their wardrobe?
