No Heat Beach Waves Tutorial
Beach WavesHappy Hump Day! I'm going to be one of the Vidal Sassoon Pro Series "Show Your Genius" judges, so I wanted to share how I create natural beachy waves without using any heat.
For shoots and special occasions I curl my hair using a curling iron but whenever I'm traveling internationally and forget my power adapter (or accidentally blow my curling iron for this reason), I use the below trick to create my beachy waves.
1. Part your slightly damp hair into two sections (right and left) and start twisting from the root to all the way to the end of your hair. Make sure you twist well!
2. Using a bobby pin, pin the end of your twisted hair to the crown of your head.
3. Twist the other side of your hair in the same direction (I normally twist outwards) and pin to the crown of your head like the first side.
4. Let your hair dry naturally overnight and in the morning, unpin the ends. Shake your head and pretend your in a shampoo commercial, and voila! You got waves! If you'd like to hold the waves, top off the look with a lightweight hairspray such as the Vida Sassoon Pro Series Flexible Hold Hairspray.I know you guys have some amazing hairstyle so make sure to enter the "Show Your Genius" contest! Whether you're creating fun up-dos, curls, braids, or even your everyday hairstyle, all you have to do is upload an existing image or snap a quick photo onto Vidal Sasoon Pro Series "Show Your Genius" Facebook contest to win prizes and products!
