I'm beyong thrilled to be sharing this new movement that Avon is launching with you all. As some of you may know, I'm a teacher (aside from being a blogger), which means I have dealt with a lot of bullying in school. Thus, I'm really happy that Avon Canada is on a mission to empower young women to speak out against bullying and domestic violence through the company’s new Start Something bracelet campaign.
Launching in September, Avon Canada will donate 100% of the net proceeds from each Start Something™ bracelet to the Canadian Women’s Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, which will fund anti-bullying and girls’ mentoring and empowerment programs across the country. Doubling as a 1 GB USB key, the Start Something™ bracelet will also help spread Avon’s message in classrooms and on campuses, where the abuse and bullying of young women has become increasingly prevalent.
“The facts are astounding,” says Roberta Lacey, Director of Communications & Events, Avon Canada. “Domestic violence will affect nearly one in three women worldwide. Our hope is that the Start Something™ campaign will create awareness and build confidence in young women to rally for change.”

I'm a really big fan of these bracelets because not only are they for a good cause, but they are also very useful on a day to day basis.
