WHY YOU SHOULD SKIP THIS PRODUCT
Right away I'm going to say that I think I may be one of the handful of girls who really dislike this foundation. There are so much hype build around this foundation and many gurus have stated that it even beats Revlon ColorStay foundation, which is one of my HG foundations, so I am very curious at its performance. Anyways, so I'm going to start with some of the good stuff about the foundation. First of all, I love the fact that it has a pump! It's easy to use and no messy application process. Second, yes it has great lasting power because I'm able to wear it for 8-9 hours without any budging. Thirdly, the foundation dries to a powder-like finish so it keeps oil away for most of the day without looking greasy. And lastly, I do enjoy the coverage. I wouldn't say it's full coverage but it's at least medium. You can take a look at the photo below for the coverage of my beauty mark on my arm.
Now, onto the reasons why I think this product will not replace my Revlon ColorStay and why I have already thrown out this product. First of all, there's something really odd about the coverage and texture of this foundation. For some reason, it just doesn't blend nicely with my skin. I have tried using it with brushes and my Beauty Blender but it just does not work. I need at least 2 pumps of the product to blend everything evenly. It's really weird. Second, maybe because of my dry skin, I always find some dry patches near my chin area after 2/3 hours of wear. My skin would literally flake. So I thought maybe it's my moisturizer, so I switched moisturizers a few times and tested it out with the foundation, it's still the same. I'm assuming that this product is probably not good for anyone with dry skin. My skin use to be oily, but in the recent year it has become more dry.
Final reason why this product doesn't work for me is the fact that I have a yellow undertone and this product oxidized on my face to a pink undertone finish. Thus, it does not match me at all. I do think that this foundation would be great for someone with a pink undertone and if you personally prefer a drier formula for foundations. I completely understand that this is probably one of the BEST CoverGirl foundation but it's just not more me.
