Yes, that is a massive raindrop coming down in this last photo. Speaking of, this is a male Rufous hummingbird. They appeared about two weeks later than usual this year and apparently in abundance! Shiny like a brand new copper penny, they are the smallest of our hummers.
Despite their small size, they have BIG attitudes and call the shots, often seen chasing away anything else that comes near what they have claimed THEIR feeding areas.
