Then and Now: Elizabeth Taylor and Lindsay Lohan
Earlier in the summer, I wrote a piece for Luckymag.com about the first look from the set of Lifetime's film Liz & Dick. If you haven't heard of the film, it's about the turbulent relationship between two of the greatest film actors of the 20th century, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Theirs was a relationship that was so fascinating to the media and public that the constant documentation of their exploits makes Brangelina look like a couple living in obscurity. They dominated every headline - from the affair on the set of Cleopatra that brought them together to their constant (often alcohol-fueled) arguments that pushed them apart, plus all the jetsetting, parties, make-ups and break-ups along the way.
Since the first official look was released in June, I've been keeping an eye on the film's production because of my undying adoration for Elizabeth Taylor as well as for Lindsay Lohan (in the role of the late actress), who I really hope will get the explosive comeback that her talent merits. Today, Lifetime released more pics from the film and I have to say that it looks amazing. Lindsay and her onscreen Burton, Grant Bowler, look strikingly like the actors they're portraying, and the costume designers absolutely killed it with recreating looks from the early '60s and '80s. On a purely superficial, visual basis, I think this film is going to be incredible. What do you think about LiLo as Liz?Lindsay does the Cleopatra look really well -- which is promising, because this moment in time is pivotal to the Taylor-Burton storyLindsay and her onscreen paramour Grant Bowler are mirror images of Elizabeth and Richard on their wedding day in 1964 -- also isn't Liz/Lindsay's hairstyle incredible?Despite her age of just 26, Lindsay is capable of successfully looking like an '80s-era Liz, who was then nearly three times the actress's age
